Amethyst Place is honored to announce that we have been selected as one of 25 organizations nationwide to receive funding from the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE) through its Community-Driven Responses to Opioid Use Disorder and Overdose Mortality Program.
FORE awarded $3.7 million in grants to community-based organizations across the country working on the front lines of the opioid and overdose crisis. The funding supports organizations that provide practical, compassionate, and lifesaving services to individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.
This investment will enable Amethyst Place to expand the reach of our work while contributing to a growing body of evidence around family-centered recovery. Through this funding, we will expand Amethyst Amplified consulting to another agency and conduct a longitudinal study of former residents to better understand the long-term impact of stable housing, recovery support, and family reunification. The research will be co-led by former Amethyst Place resident Carrine Spinks, ensuring that lived experience remains central to the process.
“While the opioid epidemic remains a daunting challenge, we know recovery is possible—we see it every day at Amethyst Place,” said Sarah Knopf-Amelung, Director of Strategy & Growth. “We’re deeply grateful for FORE’s investment, which will enable us to expand Amethyst Amplified consulting to another agency and conduct a longitudinal study of former residents to capture generational outcomes. This research, co-led by former resident Carrine Spinks, will ensure our work is grounded in lived experience as we translate key elements of our model for broader adoption. We look forward to sharing what we learn.”
The funding reflects a growing recognition of the importance of family-centered approaches to recovery and the role that stable housing, supportive services, and family reunification play in creating lasting change.
